Requirements: 1. Graduate qualified teacher;
2. Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject area;
3. Master’s degree an advantage;
4. Minimum 3 years’ experience in teaching IGCSE/A-level Economics;
5. Demonstrate experience in working with students in a learning focused environment;
6. Must be able to make decisions around lesson content and sequencing, assessment of students performance and evaluation of teaching programme;
7. Ability to build and manage professional relationships with colleagues, senior leadership team, students and parents;
8. Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work under pressure;
9. Committed and responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students.
Job Description: 1. Ensure that students achievements in Economics meets all agreed targets;
2. Provide HoD with monthly teaching plans in line with the scheme of work (SOW)and a copy to the Academic principal, advises HoD regarding own specialized subject resources;
3. Set and mark the continuous assessment tests (CAT) in accordance with the assessment policy, homework assignment;
4. Accept to be a class supervisor or form tutor as maybe assigned by the Head of Pastoral and attend pastoral meetings;
5. Write references to students and helps them to edit their personal statements for application to university;
6. Participate in meetings with parents, open Days, and all school functions;
7. Set and supervise at least one extra-curricular activity;
8. Invigilate exams as per the arrangements made by the examination officer;
9. Attend all staff meetings, department meetings, professional development meetings and pastoral meetings.
